Maroccan Tile Leads Hot New Trends in Flooring!
Small, glossy, eccentric, we are talking about Moroccan-style tiles, one of the interior design trends for 2020.
For centuries, Moroccan craftsmen have been producing stunning handmade glazed terracotta tiles, by the same method, which has survived unchanged to the present. These tiles are used to create traditional Moroccan mosaic, where the ceramic chips are assembled in elaborate geometrical patterns.
Paying tribute to beautiful hardwood flooring, wood-look tile is a ceramic or porcelain tile that combines the rich, textured finishes, and warmth of real wood with the durability, functionality, and design flexibility of tile.
Most wood look tiles are created with inkjet technology which creates a surface pattern that imitates the look of real wood, from traditional hickory patterns to reclaimed wood patterns - in a range of colors and finishes.
Wood Tile Plank Sizes
The most common size for wood tile planks is 6x24. However, we're noticing that the widths and lengths are getting larger as wood tile planks are becoming more and more popular.
You can now increasingly find wood look tile planks in lengths of 36 and even 48 inches.
Although 6" wide planks are most common, anywhere from 4” to 8” wide plank sizes are popular.
Some wood tile plank series includes multiple sizes in one packaging to better create that look of a real wood floor.
